Your Clinical Placement
What to expect on your first day
The adventure begins! When you arrive at the Iqaluit airport, a physician service staff will meet you (look for the person holding the Qikiqtani sign) and drive you to your accommodations. After having a chance to drop off your luggage, the staff will bring you to the hospital where you will have a hospital orientation and complete your iEHR training (Integrated Electronic Health Record).
Your iEHR training and hospital orientation will take most of the afternoon. You will not be scheduled for clinical work on your first day/night in town, so you will have a chance to settle in, visit the grocery store and explore.

Emergency medicine rounds: review of topics related to emergency medicine

Educational Rounds: We frequently host visiting specialists and local experts who present on a wide range of topics relevant to family practice. Notification about these sessions is sent via email. Visiting specialists typically give teachings on Wednesdays during lunchtime, but this can change week to week.
